Why do websites ignore Dota2 while releasing rankings ?

Many of the websites that release rankings about the best players, the best games etc end up not reviewing statistics for Dota2. This has been a fact and was recently pointed out by thooorin. Dota2 does present a niche audience, but it also consists of really a large player base.

Amazing how many of these esports end-of-year lists which try to cover multiple games just end up focusing on CS:GO, LoL and possibly CoD, while ignoring that Dota2 exists.
