Blizzard knew the way to hype up the crowd at Barclay’s center
Esports LAN tournaments are usually filled with loud fans and a lot of engagement. The fans are usually much younger in age and have a very enthusiastic approach in support of their favorite team(s). The Overwatch league Grand finals were held in the Barclay’s Center in New York. As a part of their approach to hype up the crowd, Blizzard installed ultimate meters in the arena. It would hype up the crowd to fill the ultimate meter by making more noise and being vocal in their support. Ofcourse the crowd, always wanting to fill up the meter was one very noisy one ( in a good way)
Another crowd pump tactic: there's an ultimate meter on the screen that fills up as the crowd gets louder!! #OWL2018
