Disney enters esports with investments into Liquid

Disney’s new D|XP is a new show dedicated to the world of gaming on Disney’s channel. It will feature Disney showing esports for the first time on its channels. This is in collaboration with ESL, which i hosting several tournament. Surprisingly Disney will not be featuring the most prominent esports in CSGO, Dota2, Overwatch etc. While these definitely go against the policies for Disney on their channel, they are also very complicated to understand for newcomers into esports. According to esports insider, Disney will be focussing on :

A six-episode series which forms the bulk of ESL Brawlers, which looks to crown a champion from ‘some of the most skilled’ players of Capcom’s Street Fighter V. Challengers will grind through an arduous ‘first to 10’ match for a chance a the throne, while the reigning winner must defend their title from new challengers each week.
