Thoughts on the update The biggest change ofcourse comes to heroes such as Spectre, Ursa, Wraith King, Dark Willow and Silencer. Spectre has received a huge nerf to its damage throughout levels. While Dispersion’s AOE has increased from 375 to 500, it has received several nerfs in other levels. Spectre will not be a good hero from Level 10 as his +15 desolate damage is now moved to Level 15. At the same time, Spectre does have the option of availing +4 stats at Level 10. This puts his focus on survivability instead of dealing extra damage early in the game. Ursa also has received nerfs across skills. From fury Swipe damage to its ultimate damage multiplier, the hero does a lot less damage than before. These are very minor changes to the game and the hero, however, over time they will have an impact on Ursa’s pick rate. There are several small changes to several heroes but that’s exactly how patch updates go in Dota 2. These small changes to the heroes can suddenly put the spotlight on other heroes in the game which can enhance their pick rate. The Kuala Lumpur Major qualifiers are currently underway and this patch update will definitely affect the teams’ strategies.
