There has been a lot of fan discontent over the decision to replace Steel with TACO. But apparently, it was Steel’s decision to step down which forced Liquid’s hand to get a replacement for the Brazilian player. With TACO available on the market, it seemed but a natural fit for the NA organization.

to everyone suggesting we just flat out replaced TACO with steel. You dont mess with a winning team which is why this caught us off guard. He asked to step down and I feel TACOs availability was the deciding factor to make him comfortable with his decision.
