Is Valve really creatively barren?

Imagine how barren you have to be creatively not to be able to come up with new maps when you're making 100s of millions $ a year

This tweet by Thoorin suggests that Valve is creatively barren not to be able to come up with new maps. But we already get thousands of community maps from content creators. The fact is that these maps are sometimes not good enough for competitive play. Also prematurely putting these maps into the map pool will significantly alter the landscape. Valve is working slowly and while many of us would want them to turn up the speed it’s definitely not lacking creative talent in the title.
