Swiss format is not always the best format – Fallen

The ESL One Cologne 2017 features a Swiss format in the Group stage. The upcoming Major will also feature a Swiss format. While every format has its own merits, each one has its own demerits as well.

Swiss format might be entertaining but I hate it and think its way too better for underdog teams. GGWP fnatic we move on to playoffs.

One of the biggest concerns for the Swiss format is the surprising high number of upsets and underdog wins in the system. It is not surprising to see NIP topping the groups and directly going into the Quarterfinals. Whether they will make it past and deep into the tournament, is a thing to be seen. However according to Fallen the meritorious dont always win in the Swiss format system.
